What we call “reality” is a product of the information received from the world outside oneself and the way they are processed, interpreted and analysed with respect to one`s “will” which makes use of these information for fulfilling its goals. So “reality” perceived by individuals are projections of one`s consciousness onto the world. “Reality” is perceived differently by different people according to the realm of consciousness which dominates one`s mind (see the page on will and world). The individuals, whose mind is able to move across different realms of consciousness, will perceive “reality” as multidimensional -
The life receives its meanings according to the purpose on which the mind focuses its attention. Person whose mind is focused on the primary level of consciousness related to survival, reproduction and upbringing of the progenies, the meaning and happiness of life would mean a fulfilment of these needs. A person whose mind is connected to a realm of consciousness from where one may receive suggestions of possible other worlds not directly perceived by the senses, the imaginative and creative processes will bring greater meaning and fulfilment. Similar would be the case with other realms of consciousness I have talked about.
In most cases the meaning of life is tied to the goals of the individuals enjoying a certain stage of development of the mind. The fulfilment and achievement of these goals bring happiness. Therefore both the ignorant and the wise may find meaning and happiness by projecting one`s level of consciousness in the world and realizing these goals framed by one`s own willing. The problem of meaning and happiness becomes more challenging for those who can move across multiple levels of consciousness at the same time. For them the “reality” appears multidimensional and kaleidoscopic, which changes with changing focus and perspective of the mind. For them “reality” has no unique essence. It depends on the way one projects oneself and observes a particular circumstance and extracts meaning out of it.
A common meaning of all life is a confusing concept. As said, meaning is relative and “will-
When I talk about an “enlightened way” I assume possibilities of progress and evolution of the human mind. I define a life to be in a higher stage of evolution when the mind is able to access greater information from the world (known and still unknown) and use them in realizing a life which is more free from the “vegetative state” i.e. the darkened world. Higher life elevates life to a higher level of freedom whose source may lie in an unphysical energy, which I call the creative and the spiritual power of the mind.
I see a meaning behind existence of all life in the movement from darkness to light: It means a path of evolution of the mind from the law-
All life have opportunities to move higher along the path of evolution which may bring more freedom and make one closer to the destination of “light”. Some of us may have come nearer to this goal than the others. Some may still remain caught in the chains of life darkening the mind. However, everybody, in spite of the distances left to reach the ultimate goal, has possibilities to choose an “enlightened path” of living. It means moving a step forward from where one finds oneself. Every realm where one walks offers opportunities to choose a higher path. Outside one`s own goal one may find meaning of living by guiding the fellow human beings, still groping in the dark, to find an enlightened path.
In my view “nirvana” is not a movement away from the world and the will and reaching a transcended state beyond all knowing and perceiving and escaping the wheel-
